Hurricane Ike came ashore with a fury leaving downed trees, power outages, flooding and destruction in its path.   Somebody Cares staff and volunteers rode the storm out at the Houston office, staying in touch with network partners and coordinating relief even as windows were blown out and power knocked out in the building.

Flooding and damage as far as eastern Louisiana, the coast of Texas, and even in Houston have been reported to the office.  The path of Ike was massive.   At the same time, our network of ministry partners is rallying and starting to move into position to offer help to others affected by Ike.  In the midst of the havoc, Somebody Cares is offering hope and tangible help!

But we can’t do it without you.  The SCA office is badly damaged.  Donations are needed now so the team can set-up our command center in a new location to coordinate relief efforts.  Transportation for relief supplies is also in great demand.  Join relief efforts with a generous donation now!
