“We Need A Book of Acts Movement Again”
Scriptures and Key Points
We have to go through the process to get to the promise.
Acts 4:17-19 NKJV But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.” So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.”
We need to be Christ-centric, not ethnocentric or political-centric.
“God doesn’t answer prayer, He answers desperate prayer.” -Leonard Ravenhill
Isaiah 58 NKJV …“Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?
We need to be tangible expressions of Christ.
Isaiah 1 NKJV …When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood. “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes…
2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV If My people who are called by My name will humble thmselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
We must speak the truth in love seasoned with grace, but speak the truth nonetheless.
1 Corinthians 10:21 NKJV You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.
We need to quit representing God in the House of the Lord and not letting Him be God of the house.
2 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
We don’t want to be so legalistic or so free that we lose sight of our relationship with the Lord.
Legalism can cause us to lose the presence of God
Liberty can turn into license that becomes licentiousness
Isaiah 26:3 NKJV You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Gratitude attracts the presence of God
2 Corinthians 9:10 NKJV Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.
Philippians 3:10 NKJV That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death
2 Samuel 5:19-20 NKJV So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.” So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
God is attracted to humility.
Matthew 5:16 NKJV Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
