This year marks two significant milestones for Doug—his 70th birthday and 45 years of ministry.
It’s an opportunity to celebrate Doug’s faithful service, but even more importantly, to give thanks for God’s faithfulness through TPMI and Somebody Cares over these many years.
And we’d love for you to be part of the celebration!
Here are three meaningful ways you can join us:
1. SHARE YOUR STORY:
We’d love to hear how Doug, TPMI, or Somebody Cares has made a difference in your life, family, church, ministry, or community.
Whether it’s a moment of encouragement, a meaningful partnership, a lesson you’ve carried with you, or even a funny story from along the way, your testimony would be a tremendous blessing.
Would you send us either:
- A short video (1–3 minutes)
- A brief written testimony
Our desire is not simply to recognize Doug, but to celebrate all that God has done through the years. Your story will help us honor His faithfulness and encourage others with the impact of His work.
Please send your video or written testimony by August 31 to [email protected].
We will, of course, share all submissions with Doug, and we may also share some leading up to or during and beyond our October 16 celebration.
2. ATTEND THE CELEBRATION:
We would love for you to celebrate with us October 16 at New Life Church in Houston as we give thanks for God’s faithfulness, celebrate what He has accomplished, and look ahead with expectation to all that is still to come.
- Reception: 5–7 p.m. — arrive when you can!
- Celebration Service: 7 p.m.
3. MAKE A SPECIAL 45/70 GIFT:
Rather than hosting a traditional gala and seeking event underwriters, we’ve chosen to gather at a local church—giving friends and partners the opportunity, if they wish, to invest directly in the ministry through our 45/70 Legacy Campaign.
This campaign is about much more than celebrating milestones. It’s about building for the future:
A future where the Gospel’s impact in communities is greater because local churches are working together.
Where leaders are equipped for challenges they have not yet faced.
Where communities experience hope instead of despair.
And where the next generation is prepared to carry the Gospel farther than ours ever could.
Our goal is to raise $450,000 by the end of the year to strengthen and expand the Somebody Cares network for even greater Kingdom impact—today and for generations to come.
Reaching this goal will provide a strong financial foundation for 2027, covering a significant portion of our anticipated operating and administrative expenses and positioning Doug and the team to focus more fully on the ministry opportunities God places before us.
We can think of no better gift for Doug than to begin 2027 on solid financial footing—knowing that a significant portion of the essential expenses that make ministry possible, including team salaries, travel, rent, and other day-to-day operating costs, are provided for. That strong foundation will give Doug and the team greater freedom to prayerfully respond when God opens doors to minister and serve.
Thank you for helping us celebrate this special season. We are deeply grateful for your friendship, your partnership, and the part you have played in this incredible journey.
Most of all, thank you for caring!
