First we must hear the alarms sounding. So we can’t afford to hit our snooze buttons anymore.
Scriptures and Key Points:

- We need an awakening if we’re to reach the soul of a nation or a generation.
- Our nation needs a revival of character.
“The characteristics of the kingdom emanate from the characteristics of the King.” – Dr. Edwin Louis Cole
- Degrees on leadership are only worth the paper they’re written on without the substance of character to go with it.
“Self is the opaque veil that hides the face of God from us.” – A.W. Tozer
- Our private posture affects our public influence. Additionally our private choices have public consequences.
- The heart of the nation should be the Church.
Hear the Alarms. The Church needs a corporate heart awakening, if we’re going to see the soul of our nation healed.
- Therefore our response to these alarms should be of humility, repentance, and renewed consecration.
Isaiah 1 NLT … I will not listen, for your hands are covered with the blood of innocent victims…
Amos 7:7-8 NKJV Thus He showed me: Behold, the Lord stood on a wall made with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand. And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said: “Behold, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of My people Israel; I will not pass by them anymore.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
- Also, it’s our responsibility to cross our racial, denominational, and generational divide if we’re going to see healing in our generation.
