“I wanted you all to be the first to know that on 23 April 2026, we completed the Vazquez’ house in Hunt,” wrote Pastor Phil Jackson. “It is move in ready!”
The Vazquez family of five lost their house when water rose up to the attic. They barely escaped with their lives by breaking through the roof.
SCA has been working with Pastor Jackson’s church, First Assembly of God, to restore the family’s home, and also took the family shopping to supply them with brand new furniture (see photo above).
“I must thank all of the volunteers who worked tirelessly to get this home done quickly,” Pastor Jackson continued. “Of course, it would not have been possible without Doug Stringer and Somebody Cares, Convoy of Hope, and First Assembly of God Church in Kerrville. Together, they gave over $80,000 in materials and labor.
“As God gave it to them,” he added, “He saw He could get it through them. What a true picture of our Father’s love they all have been.”
“Thank you for blessing us by helping us recover what we had lost,” the Vazquez family said during their trip to shop for furniture. “Thank you for being a ray of sunlight in our lives.“
