Wildfires in California are scorching huge swaths of the landscape and communities as dry heat and high winds make containment difficult.  Tens of thousands of people have already evacuated their homes, not knowing if they will ever be able to return.

Somebody Cares is working with ministry partners in California to respond as needs are identified.  Responding to a request from partner churches and ministries, we are sending sending thousands of face masks for use in areas where air quality has deteriorated from smoke and ash. As other needs are identified we will send additional aid as we are able.

Because of the tremendous number of families affected by the fires, we know the needs will continue to grow. Please help rush aid to those impacted with a gift today!  Just $20 can provide desperately needed facemasks to 200+ people!  Donate Today!

Please also pray with us for:

  • God to send rains to California so the fires can be contained and put out;
  • Safety for firefighters and first responders as they battle the blazes;
  • Comfort, peace and provision for those who have had to evacuate their homes;
  • Wisdom for community leaders in coordinating aid;
  • The Good News of Jesus to reach those impacted as the Body of Christ responds in word and deed!

SCA is also responding to the needs of flood victims in Texas along the Rio Grande.  Homes of thousands of low-income families were inundated by rising waters last month.  With no flood insurance and no FEMA aid as of yet, these precious families are forced to live in unsanitary conditions as they struggle to earn enough to feed their children, let along clean out and repair their homes.  Our ministry partner at Center Church is requesting non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, baby supplies, hygiene items.  The biggest challenging to covering transportation of donated items to flooded areas.  Please consider a financial donation to help deliver needed items now.  Pray also for the health and welfare of these families as they try to recover.
