SCA SUMMIT FEATURES NIGHT OF WORSHIP WITH FORMER MEMBERS OF “THIRSTY CHILD”

Somebody Cares and Turning Point Ministries present a “Night of Worship” with Mike Ash and Louis Kent on Monday, October 16, as part of the Somebody Cares America-International Summit. Worship begins at 7pm at the Sheraton Brookhollow in Houston TX, located at I-610 and Highway 290. This evening session and the prior evening session on Sunday, October 15, are both free and open to the public.

Mike and Louis were both part of Thirsty Child, a band started by a couple of missionaries who had a heart to share God’s love through heartfelt worship and relational interaction with the Body of Christ, while also reaching out to the “least of these.“ Mike and Louis served with Keith Green’s Last Days Ministries, Mercy Ships, and Youth With a Mission, all based in Lindale TX. The band members were instrumental, along with 10 Shekel Shirt, in starting a YWAM base called “Axiom” in the Yale University Town of New Haven, CT. Mike now lives in Kansas City and Louis lives in Charlottesville VA. Until recently, Mike served as the worship leader at Metro Christian Fellowship with Floyd McClung. He has also ministered at the International House of Prayer.

Mike and Louis are long-time friends of the ministry, and we are blessed to have them minister to us! They have the gift to take you into the presence of the Lord in a fresh, unique way.

You can listen to samples of Mike’s 2004 CD, “Everything” and also 2 of their other albums at Indie Heaven HERE.

Plan now to join us for a time of lifting up the name of Jesus in worship and praise!

The Somebody Cares Summit will include reports from chapter directors and leaders from across the U.S., as well as representatives from Israel, Brazil, Fiji, and Kenya. We will also have updates on our church-based/Christ-centered disaster response and preparedness plan, a special presentation from Dr. Todd Price on pandemics, and more!

Seats for the Summit and banquet are still available. For more information on the Summit and the special celebration banquet for TPMI’s 25th anniversary and Doug Stringer’s 50th birthday, please go to www.somebodycares.org.  Click to REGISTER NOW!
