Where the Holy Spirit Goes
Revelation 22:1-2 NKJV And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
- God’s bringing together a people to cross racial, denominational, and generational lines. To have a heart to be touched by God, equipped by God, and empowered by God to go touch the nations.
“The person of the Holy Spirit and the characteristics and the power of the Holy Spirit: Throughout history every move of God, every awakening, revival, and spiritual reformation has been marked by the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit. Where the Spirit is welcomed and honored, transformation follows. From the throne of God flows rivers of living water bringing healing everywhere they go.”
Ezekiel 47:8-12 NKJV …And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live…
“And where those rivers flow through surrendered lives, a mighty harvest always follows.”
Revelation 4:5 NASB Out from the throne came flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God.
Isaiah 11:2 NKJV The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
A complete expression of God’s character is revealed through His Spirit.
- The presence of the Holy Spirit is also a great equalizer and empowering the body of Christ.

The Holy Spirit is already moving.
- Revival is already here. We just have to tap into what God is saying to see the expansion of the Kingdom.
Matthew 28:16-20 NKJV Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him…And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
- This is an appointed moment. God gives us appointed moments to come together corporately.
- We need the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to fulfill what God is calling us to do.
- The Holy Spirit is not just a force or an influence. He is God, the third person of the Trinity, Holy is the Father, Holy is the son. Holy is the Spirit of God.
- When we understand His nature and character, and allow His power to work in us and through us, we will walk in a dimension of life and ministry that is impossible through human strength alone.
Acts 1:8 NKJV But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
- The word power in the Greek “dynamis” is where we get the word dynamite. But it’s not just an explosive energy. It is God’s life-changing, transforming power that makes us bold witnesses and fruitful servants.

- God, help me to love Your truth.
2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 NKJV And with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie.
- In a world of deception, He keeps us anchored in God’s word.
He is our comforter and helper.
- Paraklétos means “one called alongside to help.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”…
- He strengthens us in our weaknesses.
1 Corinthians 14:33 NKJV For God is not the author of confusion but of peace…
- Also, counsels us in confusion.
Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest…

The Holy Spirit Empowers.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NKJV There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit…
- The Spirit gives gifts for the ministry.
- He equips us with courage and faith and supernatural ability to do what we could never do ourselves.

- We need each other.

The power of the Holy Spirit: He gives us power to witness.

- Be a living gospel witness of word and deed in the midst of people’s pain.
- “We’re coming in the name of Jesus…we’re just here to serve you.”
- In the midst of a crisis, doors are being opened that would have never been opened to the Gospel before, but they’re open because they’ve seen the tangibility of God’s people being a witness.
- Boldness is not a personality trait. It’s a byproduct of being filled with the Holy Spirit.
The Spirit gives us the power to overcome.
- Grace is given to us to overcome sin by the power of the Holy Spirit.
- And the Holy Spirit gives us discernment to avoid the snares of the enemy.
He also gives us the power to love.
Romans 5:5 NKJV Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
- This love transcends offense, prejudice, and personal preference.
- We all have some opinion, but we have far more in common than we have that divides us if we recognize Jesus is the Lord of us.
Also, the power to transform
2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
- He shapes us into the likeness of Christ.
The Seven attributes of the Holy Spirit
- Number One, He is the Spirit of Holiness.
- Two, the Spirit of Truth.
- Number three, the Spirit of grace.
Hebrews 10:26-31 NKJV For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins… will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?…
- Grace trains us to say no to ungodliness and yes to all of God’s ways.
- Number four, the Spirit of adoption.
“The next great move throughout the land will focus on the father heart of God.” – Fuchsia Pickett
- But God is saying,”I’ve sealed you by the Spirit of adoption”, by which now you call God, Abba Father. It doesn’t matter what our past has been.
Romans 8:15-17 NKJV For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
And five, the Spirit of praise and worship.
Psalm 66 NKJV …And make the voice of His praise to be heard…
Psalm 104 NKJV Bless the Lord, O my soul!…You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth…
Isaiah 61:3 NKJV …The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…
John 4:1-26 NKJV …Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”…
- With that sacrifice of praise, begin to praise Him, and something will begin to change in your spirit.
- And the breakthroughs come when you begin to worship Him.
- Praise shifts atmospheres. It breaks chains and lifts a discouraged heart into the presence of God.
- Number six, the Holy Spirit, is a Spirit of life.
Romans 8:2 NKJV For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
- The Spirit breathes resurrection life into dead places, reviving individuals, churches, and even nations.
- And finally, seven, the Spirit of Glory.
Colossians 1:27 NKJV To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
- The glory is not for personal elevation, but for reflecting Jesus to a watching and needing world.
When we live in love, truth and obedience, Jesus promises to manifest Himself to us.
“He is already persuaded in our favor…As nature abhors a vacuum, so the Holy Spirit rushes in to fill the nature that has become empty by separating itself from the world and sin.” – A.W. Tozer
- May we be a people who honor His Holiness, walk in His truth, live in His grace, rest and be assured in our adoption, clothe ourselves in praise, overflow with His life and reflect His glory.
- Then will the rivers of living water flow from our lives, bringing healing, restoration, and a mighty harvest for the Kingdom.
