Our Guest: Bobbi Case

Bobbi Case is a woman who loves fiercely. She’s generous, joyful, and full of gratitude for all God’s done throughout her life. She is a court reporter by day and an expert quilter, among other things, by night. She and her husband, Rob, serve in the prayer ministry at their church and are gracious hosts for all who need a warm welcome. A mother of two adult sons, Bobbi’s learned the truth about Proverbs 3:5-6.

Key Thoughts and Scriptures from Bobbi’s Story:

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

  • Words sown in our lives, for good or for evil, can have long lasting effects.
  • The goodness of God changes things.
  • God is so faithful.
  • If we have a heart that yearns for God’s direction, He will not let us miss it if we’re willing to be obedient.
  • Even when we misstep, God will get us back on track to our ultimate destination.

Romans 8:28 NIV And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

  • Nothing is ever wasted in God’s economy.

Hebrews 13:5 NKJV …For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  • God protected Bobbi like an eagle protects its young.
  • If you’re faithful to God, God will not let you down.

Isaiah 49:15-16 NKJV “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me.

1 Samuel 17 NIV David and Goliath

Jonah NIV Jonah and the Whale

Sometimes all you can do is hug someone and pray with them.

  • Praying with children and letting them see that God answers prayers can help see them through tumultuous times.
  • Prayer is just a conversation with God.

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

  • God used Bobbi’s ability to quilt to minister to those who needed to feel God’s love wrap around them.
  • God cares about us.

Psalm 139:13-14 NIV For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;   your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

  • He designed us with a purpose.
  • God calls us to be His hands and feet in love.

Drinking From My Saucer by John Paul Moore

I’ve never made a fortune and it’s probably too late now,

But I don’t worry about that much I’m happy anyhow,

And as I go along life’s way I’m reaping better than I sow.

I’m drinking from my saucer ’cause my cup has overflowed.

Haven’t got a lot of riches and sometimes the going’s tough,

But I’ve got loving ones around me and that makes me rich enough.

I thank God for His blessings and the mercies He’s bestowed.

I’m drinking from my saucer ’cause my cup has overflowed.

O, Remember times when things went wrong

My faith wore somewhat thin,

But all at once the dark clouds broke

And sun peeped through again.

So Lord, help me not to gripe about the tough rows that I’ve hoed.

I’m drinking from my saucer ’cause my cup has overflowed.

If God gives me strength and courage when the way grows steep and rough,

I’ll not ask for other blessings I’m already blessed enough

And may I never be too busy to help others bear their loads.

Then I’ll keep drinking from my saucer ’cause my cup has overflowed!

Bobbi has learned that we can invest and sow in life so that those who come after us will know God.

Matthew 10:29-31 NIV Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

  • You can’t outgive God.
  • Bobbi learned to have an attitude of gratitude even during the hard times.

Psalm 22:3 MEV But You are holy, O You who inhabits the praises of Israel.

Psalm 100:4 NIV Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;    give thanks to him and praise his name.

  • God does come when we praise Him and His presence changes everything.

Luke 10:38-42 NIV, John 12:1-10 NIV Martha’s story

  • Martha was in a close enough relationship with Jesus to be honest with Him.
  • She knew who Jesus was.
  • Sometimes we get so caught up in doing, that we need to remember to stop and listen at Jesus’ feet.

Romans 8:28 NLT And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

James 1:2 NLT Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

  • God will use the trials in our lives to shape us and make us more like Him if we allow Him to do so.

Isaiah 55:11 NKJV So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Psalm 23 NLT The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need…
