Our Guest: Lisa Stringer

Lisa Stringer is the wife of Doug Stringer, president of Somebody Cares America/ International and is editor of this podcast. At one time, Lisa successfully worked her way up in the secular radio and music industry, but she left that all behind.

Now a minister in her own right, Lisa is a frequent speaker to women and youth groups across the country and globally. Lisa recently returned from ministering in the war-torn country of Ukraine, and I know you will be strengthened in your faith as you hear her story.

Key Thoughts and Scriptures:

Psalm 46:10-11 NLT “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.

  • In every decision we make we should be making sure that it’s God and not our flesh.
  • God’s work done in God’s way is never lacking God’s supply.
  • “When I saw you pray, I had a peace that settled in my spirit.”
  • A single teddy bear had a divine appointment; it became a symbol of peace for someone for it was a gift from God, not from Lisa and Doug, but from God himself.
  • “God, let everything I do be pleasing unto you. And so let me have a clean heart, let me have a right spirit and a sharp sound mind to hear what you asked me to do.”
  • The enemy wants to distract us from worshiping the Lord and experiencing the joy of His presence.
  • “In times of need, I think all of us have a warrior princess spirit in us. It’s a matter of are you going to let that warrior princess shine?”
  • God is always faithful, when you stick to sharing the word of God and the stories in the Bible, He will use it to encourage those around us.
  • Being in alignment with God, no matter what you go through, success in His eyes is there for you.
  • “Ruach” is a Hebrew word for the breath of God.
  • When there’s a desperation for God, God answers in ways that are amazing.
  • We need to have the willingness to say, “There is no other way but you Jesus.”

“Let me never be just one that wants to hold your hand when I’m desperate, but let me experience those signs and wonders when I’m full of joy.” – Lisa

  • Learn to be still and hear God’s voice.
  • The mission is to be a light that shines, set on a hill, that others can see Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-16 NLT “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

  • Our very presence expels darkness because it’s not our presence, it’s the Holy Spirit in us that does the work and shines if we allow him to.

Ways that we can pray for our brothers and sisters who are in Ukraine or dispersed from their homeland

  • Pray the peace of God over them.
  • There’s a need for work.
  • Pray for God to move in that nation in supernatural ways.

Matthew 24:6 NKJV And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

  • Also pray for peace within the people groups.
  • That there would be a mighty move of God that would become more evident and that people would see that He is real.
  • One small potato can feed a whole lot of people, and one small potato planted well can multiply into more potatoes, and God does things.
  • Pray also that funds will come in to purchase more solar Bibles that have the Ukrainian and Russian languages for those that are trying to learn.
  • Continue to pray for finances so that ministries can serve over there, getting them the resources they need.

Mary, the Mother of Jesus

Luke 1:26-56 NIV The beginning of Mary’s story

Isaiah 7:14 NIV Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

  • What must it have been like to carry him, to be ridiculed because you had not been with the man, yet you stand faithful? And to have walked and journeyed to have given birth on a possibly cold day in a manger? What must it have been like to hold the Savior in your arms, to look at him in his eyes, to raise him?
  • “God, help me to walk in obedience like she did, even when I don’t want to because my flesh kicks in, even when I doubt.”

John 14:6 NIV Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

  • Mary was incredibly faithful through some very difficult circumstances.

Psalm 37 NLT …Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires…

  • God’s got this and God’s got you.

Hebrews 12:2 NKJV looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…

Psalm 107:1 ESV Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

2 Peter 3:9 NKJV …not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Psalm 20:1 NIV May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
