Our Guest: Lidiette Rosas
Meet Lidiette Rosas, co-founder of Love Bought International, an orphan care organization. Lidiette’s passion goes beyond orphan care. Having encountered several difficult seasons alone, left her with a passion to provide community to disconnected women and an urge to create a place that fosters mentorship relationships. She believes in doing ministry as a family, with her husband, Mike Rosas and her 3 children. Lidiette is a firm believer of pushing limits and lives by the following words:
“So many things are possible just as long as you don’t know they’re impossible.” — Norton Juster
Key Thoughts and Scriptures:
Romans 8:28-30 NIV And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
- The good God is working for us is that we are being conformed into the image of Jesus.
- Lidiette heard God speak and say, “I created you for more than this.”
- She had to completely transform her environment to sustain this new change.
- Lidiette tried to control her environment in an effort to feel safe and that took her in a downward spiral.
- Oftentimes the enemy attacks you in the area of your calling.
Hebrews 13:5 NKJV …For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- Whatever the Lord says, goes.
- “I’ve got God this time and God’s going to carry me through.”
- God’s vision for Lidiette and her husband never died.
Psalm 91:1 NKJV He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 23:4 NKJV Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
- When you go through the valley of the shadow of death, between you and the shadow of death is the shadow of the Almighty. And He covers you. Oftentimes when things seem darkest it’s because God is holding you the closest.
God taught Lidiette that His favor can get us so much further than our own hustle can.
- God could never build on the foundation that she had without addressing issues in her life.
- Lidiette needed to know who she was in Christ and His love for her.
- We each are valuable to God.
- Lidiette’s life was constantly changing, but God has been her only constant through it all.
- There’s something beautiful about the ugly too.
- Sit in each season long enough to learn from it. If we did that and shared it along the way, people would heal with us. Maybe sometimes we’re meant to heal together.
- Don’t feel like you’ve got to have it together.
Ruth’s Story
- Ruth consulted with her mentor before going out and gleaning the fields.
- And from that came an incredible lineage of people that included Jesus.
- What would happen if women gathered to glean from each other and to fulfill the calling on their lives?
- Ruth gives us an incredible example of the potential that lies in these relationships.
- It’s not good to make circles, instead make horseshoes that allow other women to come in and join the community and show the love of the Father through that.
Romans 12:2 NLT Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
- Allowing God to renew our minds is a process.
Psalm 138:8 NKJV The Lord will perfect that which concerns me…
Psalm 119:98-104 NLT Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide. Yes, I have more insight than my teachers…How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey. Your commandments give me understanding…
