Our Guest: Michele Little
Michele Little knows the power of Jesus to restore brokenness and shame. A wife and mother of two children, Michele learned how to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy and be strong in her faith. And she’s teaching her children to do the same. This woman of God serves faithfully at her church, and her story is one that will equip you to be an overcomer too.
Key Thoughts and Scriptures:
1 Peter 5:8-10 NLT Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are. In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
John 10:10 NLT The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
- Even though we’re children of God, we live among people who are ungodly and sometimes extremely wicked.
- Michele shared, “One of the lies that the enemy said to me was that God didn’t want me anymore.”
- If you harbor unforgiveness, then that’s an open door for the enemy.
- “I had experienced a real encounter with Jesus and knew it was real. There’s nothing the enemy can do to take that away.”
- Our relationship with God is a love relationship. It’s not about following a bunch of rules.
- Being in God’s word builds that relationship.
- All truth comes from God.
- When we mess, especially if you have followed the Lord for a long time, it can be difficult to forgive ourselves and even to believe that God will forgive us.
- God uses broken people.
- “I know now that anxiety is the opposite of faith.”
- Going to Bible studies and being surrounded by people that spoke the truth of life into her helped Michele get back on the right path and restore her relationship with the Lord.
“I wanted the Lord to free me from it. I wanted to be free from it, but everything I tried just seemed to end up a mess.”
- The Lord took the pain and the trauma response away.
- Sharing your story is so powerful and helps other people that may be in a similar situation or going through something that’s just as challenging because it gives hope.
Romans 2:11 KJV For there is no respect of persons with God.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
- Yesterday’s brushing of your teeth doesn’t do for today.
- Every day you have to be in the Word and renew your mind.
2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Hebrews 12:2 AMP [Looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith…
- You can get a level of healing and that’s awesome. But it’s a daily work.
Philippians 2:12 NKJV …Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling
- It’s a walk of faith. We have to move. We have to make an effort.
Michele has learned the power of prayer.
2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
- Prayer and intercessory prayer is a huge thing.
- “I want them to know the Lord because I know if they know the Lord, they know the truth and they’ve had that true encounter with Jesus, there’s only gonna be so far that they can fall.”
- The enemy tries to distract you from fulfilling your calling and disrupt the Holy Spirit working through you and ministering to people.
- Just ask the Lord, “I’m a willing vessel, Lord. Who am I praying for?”
- You give it to God. You do what He asks you to do. And then you can walk away in peace because it’s not your job to fix it. That’s His job.
Focus on what God is doing instead of all the things that are going on in the world.
- Guard the gates of your eyes and ears by not watching or listening to things that are disturbing.
1 Peter 5:8 NIV Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
- The decisions that we make whether they’re godly decisions or worldly decisions, that determines how much you’re walking with the Holy Spirit. Do you want death and destruction or do you want life and holiness?
- It all comes down to that relationship and the daily spending time with the Lord, reading the Word, and having worship time
- Be kind to yourself because we’re all on a journey.
- Don’t lose hope. God has healing for you for whatever it is that you need healing for.
- There are many instances in the Bible where people had to wait a long time to get their victory.
The Woman with the Issue of Blood
- She struggled for so long with something that made her an outcast.
- When she saw Jesus and crawled through the crowd and her belief that if she could just touch the hem of His garment she would be healed. That amount of faith is just a beautiful example
Revelation 12:11 NLT And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony…they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.
- There is power in our testimony.
Hebrews 2:14 NLT Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.
Colossians 2:13-15 NLT …Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.
When we testify to the truth of God’s victory over our enemy, we walk in that victory.
Psalm 27:13 NLT Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Psalm 84:10 NIV Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere…
Psalm 20:1-6 NIV May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you… give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed…Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.
