Key Thoughts and Scriptures:

2 Peter 1:3 NASB His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness…

  • But so often we don’t tap into all He’s made available.

Ephesians 6:12 NASB  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

  • When we begin to see things through that lens and stand in the authority God has given us, everything shifts.
  • If you run into a problem, you go to God.
  • God has a plan for you.
  • When Karen faced a serious situation, she went to God and said, “I’m not leaving here until You give me a word.”

Mark 5:25-34 KJV The Woman with the Issue of Blood

Malachi 4:2 NASB But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings…

  • When the woman touched the hem of His garment, it’s called a wing in the Hebrew culture.
  • Both scriptures referred to the healing wings of the Lord by just reaching out and touching Him.
  • Karen learned how to tuck herself away and hear from the Holy Spirit because He wants to show us the things in the future.

John 16:13 WYC But when the Spirit of truth cometh [shall come], he shall teach you all truth; for he shall not speak of himself, but whatever things he shall hear, he shall speak; and he shall tell to you those things [and he shall tell to you the things] that be to come.

Karen learned that we should guard our gateways, not just of our bodies, but our homes as much as we can.

  • If we don’t know how to protect our home, then we’re going to be subject to what’s going on around us.

Acts 19:19 CEV Some who had been practicing witchcraft even brought their books and burned them in public…

  • As people recognize that He’s given us authority, we don’t have to walk in fear.
  • One of the greatest things Karen and her family learned is how to speak the Word because He said He watches over His Word to perform it.

Jeremiah 1:12 NASB Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.

  • When you’re speaking His Word, you don’t have to pray “If it be Your will.” It’s in the Word, so it’s His will.
  • God showed Karen that there are different ways of ministry.
  • Ministry happens in all forms and in all spheres of society.

Psalm 32:8 NKJV I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Karen thought she had a plan for her life, but didn’t realize that God had a different plan.

  • God developed a skill set that she didn’t even know she possessed.
  • He said, “There’s a different way to do ministry. Let me teach you.” And it was just as much ministry.
  • Wherever you are, you are an influencer for Christ in whatever position God has you.
  • We all have a plan of how we think our life is going to go. Rarely does it go like that. But especially when you’re willing to say, “God here I am, use me.”
  • What Karen found is when you say yes to the Lord, He’ll take you into Holy Spirit led things that you would have never expected.
  • If you don’t deal with your stuff, your stuff will deal with you.
  • God wants to deal with stuff, because you can’t reach your identity and destiny until you deal with the things inside.
  • Karen spent time sitting with the Holy Spirit and asking Him, “What can you tell me about this?”
  • God wants each of us to be planted in strength.

Karen filled herself with the Word of the Lord and began to speak it out.

  • There’s a time for crying and pouring it all out to God because He’s our Father.
  • But you have to get past that place.
  • Read the Bible. Ask God, “Where do you want me to read? What do you have to share with me?”
  • Learn to just sit, listen, and let God speak.
  • It was amazing how many times God would speak and in so many different ways.
  • The Lord showed Karen that what she was learning, she could impart to others so that they could get on top as well.
  • When the church is not able to deal with the practical side of life, people leave the church.
  • The Bible is relevant for today.

Revelation 12:11 NKJV And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…

  • Part of that healing and victory for Karen was sharing the testimony of what God had already told her.
  • God always uses things in so many ways. It’s never just singular; it’s always multifaceted.

Testimony means to do it again.

  • Within the DNA of a testimony is the ability to do it again.
  • What God does for one, He said He will do for another. He isn’t a God that plays favorites. If we will take hold of a testimony of a word, He will do it within us.
  • We can hear a word from God, but if we don’t take hold of that word and let it be planted in our soul, it doesn’t mean it’s going to come to pass.
  • When we speak out God’s Word. It’s His obligation to perform it, not ours.

Exodus 15:26 NIV …for I am the Lord, who heals you.

Psalm 41:3 NASB  The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health.

  • When we learn to speak out the Word and not speak out the problem, that’s when something begins to shift.
  • It’s not that we deny a situation is there, but that isn’t what guides us.

Isaiah 53:5 NKJV …And by His stripes we are healed.

  • We can receive a word. But we can also reject a word.
  • When people speak a negative word over us, we don’t have to receive it.
  • But we can reject that and only receive words from the Lord and words that are positive and encouraging and reinforcing. So we have that choice
  • If God has called you to do something, His revelation is an invitation.
  • And because God is timeless, He is not bound by time. Even if you believed something when you were younger, God gives us the power to reject it now. So it will no longer influence our lives.
  • Sometimes it takes a little while to renew our mind because we’ve got to change the way we think.

Esther’s Story

Esther NASB

  • Esther was a woman of courage.
  • “How many times I felt like God has put me in a place where I just have to step out in courage. And He always gives us a choice.”
  • Karen’s realized if she is willing to step out in courage in those hard things, God always shows up.
  • Because it’s about what He wants to do. He’s just looking for somebody to do it.
  • Courage begets courage.

Psalm 139:14 NKJV I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…

Isaiah 30:21 NKJV Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it”…

Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV …for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Psalm 30:11 NKJV You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness

John 16:20 NKJV …your sorrow will be turned into joy.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 NIV The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

  • The God who calls you will also empower you to overcome.
