Our Guest: Lillian De Leon
Born and raised in a pastoral Christian home, Lillian came to faith at the age of seven and was later baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit, and called into ministry. She holds associate degrees in Paraprofessional Studies for the Hearing Impaired and in Christian Theology. Lillian is a licensed massage therapist, devoted pastor’s wife, and a proud mother and grandmother.

- God made His plans clear to Lillian through prayer.
- Prayer is our lifeline as a believer.
- When we need Him, He answers very quickly in the midst of it all.
- Nothing in life seems to be smooth sailing.
- Lillian was intentional about seeking God in her relationships.
- So often people go follow through on what feels right without really inviting God into the process.
- God always comes through even if it’s at the last minute He always comes through.
Psalm 91:12 NIV They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
Psalm 34:7 NIV The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.
Lillian has learned that sometimes God allows us to walk through difficult things in order to benefit others.
2 Corinthians 1:4 NIV Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
- There are times you don’t have to say anything, just show up.
- The biggest hope we can give is Jesus.
- Jesus is the Rock that we can build on.
1 Corinthians 10:4 NIV …for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
Matthew 7:24-25 NIV Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
- God is available 24/7.
Mark 16:18 NKJV …they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
- When God gets involved, He heals completely.
- God is not limited to the four walls of the church.
- We are to be light and salt wherever we go.
Matthew 5:13-16 NIV You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? …You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden…
Exodus 3-4 NIV Moses’ encounter with the Lord at the burning bush
- God calls Moses to go to Egypt and Moses starts listing all the reasons why he’s not the right person.
- And then God simply asks, “What’s in your hand?”
- When God gives us a gift or a talent or a resource or a profession and we place it back in God’s hands, He uses it in ways we could never imagine.
Esther’s Story
- If you read the book of Esther, it doesn’t mention God, but God is all over it. You can see God’s direction.
- She didn’t even want to be the queen.
- Yet she called it “a time such as this” to save her people.
- God used her talents, her grace, even her beauty to have favor with the king.
- She saved her people through giving her life completely to God and in prayer.
- That’s what we have to do as believers to take up our cross and follow Him.
Matthew 16:24 NIV Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
Philippians 1:21 NIV For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
- God gives us the strength we need through prayer, and sometimes even fasting, to have victory over every part of our lives.
- He will bring fruit out of our lives as we trust in Him.
- And that kind of life doesn’t come from easy circumstances. It comes from knowing the One who’s faithful.
- That faithfulness produces something that we all long for, and that’s peace.
You can know God the same way Lillian does.
Isaiah 26:3-4 NIV You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
