Key Thoughts and Scriptures:
Hebrews 11:8 NIV By faith Abraham, … obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
- Obedience rarely comes with a roadmap. But it always comes with a promise — that God is with us, and His plans are good.
Isaiah 41:10 NIV So do not fear, for I am with you…
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
- “There are no ceilings in God.”
- Susan has to be able to see the face of Jesus and hear His voice in her daily walk.
- God’s word is succinct and powerful.
- You don’t have to do it the way everyone else has done it before.
- Worship recharges your batteries and helps you to know what direction to go because you sense where the holiness is.
- In the holy place, pressure is relieved and hope is revived.
- When God is in something, there will be enthusiasm.
- Every human heart desires to be understood.
- Also, Susan has learned to sacrifice her need to be understood by people and rest in the fact that she is understood by God.
1 Corinthians 7 NKJV Paul’s Message on Marriage and Singleness
Philippians 4:11 NKJV Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.
- If you’re single, you can spend more time focused on the Lord and on His purposes.
- Don’t mourn away the opportunities that God has given you.
- It’s all about calling.
- You need to have an anointing to have the calling of a wife or mother, just like you would need an anointing to be a minister.
On Susan’s decision to move to the Anglican Church of North America:
- She took her time making the decision.
- Susan didn’t make the decision alone.
- Accordingly she didn’t take it lightly.
- God is always faithful to show us His way when we step out in faith.
- Susan had to learn how to walk by faith at a whole new level.
- “When I put the Kingdom first, all my needs are met and God is faithful.”
- God has told us how He wants us to worship Him; He’s not left us on our own to figure it out.
- The communion service is God’s given setting to experience God’s presence in a powerful way.
- God promises to show up if we:
- Put Him first.
- Come in humility.
- Teach the Word.
- Participate in the act of communion (physical prayers).
- Action is a communication.
- If we want to encounter Him in the most powerful way we can, the idea is positioning ourselves.
Mary Magdalene’s Story
- “Magdala” means “pulpit”.
- Mary Magdalene was the first to proclaim that Jesus was resurrected.
- She was a woman with no ceilings.
- Mary wanted to learn from Jesus when women weren’t expected to learn.
- She fashioned her whole life to go where He went and to follow in His footsteps and to sacrifice whatever it took to do that.
Isaiah 41:10 NIV So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Philippians 4:7 NIV And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
