Guest: Robin Weaver
Robin Weaver is a devoted follower of Jesus, pastor’s wife, mother of three adult sons, grandmother, and longtime realtor. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Robin gave her life to Christ at the age of five and has faithfully served alongside her husband at Crosspointe Sarasota for more than 31 years. Through every season of life, whether challenging or good, her passion has remained the same: loving people and serving Jesus with faith and compassion.
Key Thoughts and Scriptures:
- God’s desire and intentions toward us are always good.
Psalm 23:1-3 NLT The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams…renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
- If the sheep do not follow the shepherd, they don’t experience that provision, rest, peace, and renewal that God desires for them.
- Obedience to God is simply walking with Him, staying close to Him, and learning to do what He does.
- God is not harsh; He leads us with gentleness and kindness.
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Psalm 84:11 NLT For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.
- He blesses us with good things as we walk in His ways.
- God always has good in store. The question is, are we positioning ourselves to receive it?
Deuteronomy 30:16 NIV For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
Joshua 4 NLT The Memorial Stones
Psalm 37:23 NLT The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Robin’s dad advised, “If there’s anything else in the world you think you might want to do, don’t do ministry because it’s a calling. It is not a job.”
- Over time, Robin began to become guarded and it kept her from loving people.
- Jesus wanted her to love others and to be loved by them the way that He wanted her to be loved.
- She felt the Lord speaking to her clearly that His calling for her was to be Jeff’s wife and not the role of pastor’s wife.
- That idea freed Robin because God had a purpose for her and it didn’t look like everybody else’s.
- Robin and her husband entered a season that was especially hard after a really good season. Things weren’t going the way they expected it.
- “I either believe God is faithful and He’s loving me and He has a plan or I don’t.”
- God stepped in and guided them forward.
Isaiah 1:19 NIV If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.
- Robin’s past experiences had led her to build up walls around her heart.
- And over time, that contributed to her drifting from God’s path. But in her brokenness, He met her and brought deep transformation.
- She had begun to feel that nothing was enough.
- “Jesus, you have to help me. I cannot, there’s nothing I can do to get out of this.”
Romans 8:1 NIV Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
- “You are not condemned. God still has a plan and a purpose for you.”
- “I just know that there are so many things broken deep down in my soul that I need to have healed and whatever that looks like.”
God gave Robin new eyes for those around her.
- She began to see people as Jesus saw them.
- Sometimes it was hard for Robin to accept that she was truly forgiven.
- Absolute rebellion against God. And the enemy will try to throw condemnation on you, that’s his game. He wants to hold us back.
- She began to stand on the Word of God and the blood of Jesus.
- Invite the Holy Spirit into every situation.
- The more we submit ourselves to Him, He’s gonna protect us.
- Just do whatever God tells you to do.
- Robin wants to see where He’s working and join Him there.
- Pray life.
- The name Zephaniah means hidden by God.
- Life isn’t easy. But when we stay close to God, He’s able to shower us with goodness, even in the middle of what looks like trials.
The Bride of Christ
Ruth 1-4 NIV Ruth
Esther 1-10 NIV Esther
I Samuel 25 NIV Abigail
- In each of their stories, the women submitted to those God had placed over them.
- Esther submitted herself first of all to Mordecai and he gave her good instruction. And she followed that instruction and saved her nation.
- Ruth, she submitted herself to her mother-in-law, Naomi, and then to Boaz. And God led her to be in the lineage of royalty.
- Then Abigail, who was married to a ridiculous man on all accounts, fell on her face and humbled herself before the man that she knew had been anointed King of Israel. So she becomes royalty in the process.
- The Bride of Christ Ephesians 5:25-32 NIV, Revelation 19:7-9 NIV, Revelation 21:2, 9-10 NIV
- We, the bride of Christ, get to put on royal robes.
- Ruth, Esther, and Abigail were a picture of the bride of Christ.
- And God loves us so much that He calls us into His chambers and wants to be with us.
- God’s goodness isn’t just something we talk about. It’s something we experience over a lifetime.
- Walking with God doesn’t mean every season will be easy or that we’ll never make mistakes.
- But even there, God’s still present, still pursuing us.
- When we surrender and choose to trust Him again, He meets us with grace.
Psalm 37:5 TPT Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly!
Numbers 6:22-27 NIV …“‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’
