Key Thoughts and Scriptures:
1 Corinthians 16:14 NLT And do everything with love.
- Agapē is the sacrificial love that God has for us.
- And because God first loved us that way, He empowers us to love others that way too.
- “God, use my life.”
- It was only when Kathy could see that Jesus was fully God and fully man that her life changed.
- After she and her husband came to faith, the Lord spoke to her husband and said, “The talents that I gave you, they’re to be used for Me.”
- The air should be filled with the power of God. If Satan’s the prince of the power of the air, he should be conquered by God’s word.
- When Jesus was born, the angels were singing, “Glory to God in the highest.” The atmosphere was filled with the power of God.
- “I need a voice.”
2 Peter 1:2-10 NASB1995 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, for His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness…
- As long as we’re in touch with God and listen to Him and are growing in HIm, He’ll make sure that we don’t stumble.
- The Lord does not want us to put our confidence in somebody else.
God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies those He calls.
- “We did not understand it then, but now I realize that our willingness to just put our lives on the line spoke volumes.”
- But beyond that, the Word of God was so powerful.
- We work as though it all depends on us, but we know that it all depends on Him.
1 Corinthians 3:7 NKJV So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
- As long as we trust in His power to do that, we don’t have to sweat the results and worry that we are not being successful or we failed because the Lord succeeds.
- The Lord helped Kathy to see that money and funds are not an isolated thing in our lives, that we are stewards of everything He gives us.
1 Timothy 6:10 NKJV For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil…
- As long as our hearts are pure in the management of our resources, God can bless that.
- We can’t all go, but we can all pray and we can all give. And that can change the world just as much as the person who is out there in the field.
- No matter what responsibility the Lord gives us, we need to do it with all our might.
- Our task might be small. But if God is in it, it has the power of the living God of the universe behind it. Who are we to judge its importance and its value?
Kathy and Cancer
- When faced with a crisis, you have to settle your heart, not just in dealing with the physical, but you’ve got to settle your heart with the Lord and have peace and trust in Him.
- There’s no specific formula in the scripture that you follow to get healing in every case. Follow the Lord and ask Him what He wants to do for you.
- Because your body was made by Him and He knows the uniqueness of your body and knows the unique path that He wants to bring you through.
- The Lord can be trusted with your life.
- The Creator of the universe can single each one of us out as though there was no one else on the planet and lavish us with what we need.
Psalm 23:4 NKJV Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me…
- Every minute of every day, the Lord is mindful of us and is working on our behalf.
- No matter what our state of weakness that we think we have, God can use us. He loves to do that because it shows Him as being the strong one and draws attention to Him.
- Kathy’s key truth is that the Lord loves her.
- God loves each one of us and spares nothing in the care of His children.
Hannah’s story
- Kathy identified with Hannah because she and her husband wanted children and weren’t able to have children.
- Firstly, Hannah was true to her word. After finally getting what she wanted for so much of her life, she gave her son away to God.
- We need to honor our commitments to the Lord, knowing that regardless of the situation and circumstances that God is faithful.
- God has a unique plan for each one of us. We’re all equally valuable to God, all accomplish His purpose, and all must be done in love.
Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
